Orientation for Teachers

There are several places teachers can go to become oriented to the Detectives in the Classroom curriculum:

• Go back to “Overview of the Curriculum” for basic information about epidemiology and the framework of this course.
  
  
• Click here to view a Concept Map of the Detectives curriculum and see the logic flow of the 5 Modules. Each Module addresses an Essential Question.
  
  
• Click here to view "Epidemiology Background for Detectives in the Classroom". This Word Document provides the teacher with a primer about the epidemiological concepts addressed in the five modules and the contained lessons of Detectives in the Classroom. Embedded in the document are synopses of the investigations that explain how each investigation contributes to teaching students how to answer an essential question. The document can be saved on the teacher’s computer or printed out.
